Full service for your furnace or boiler — inspections, cleaning, and fixes that keep it running safely and heating the way it should all winter.

These are the exact questions people type into Google when something goes wrong at home — answered in plain language. Tap a question to open the answer.
Warm air from the vents usually means the system is running but not actually cooling. The common causes are a dirty air filter choking off airflow, a thermostat set to “heat” or “fan only” by mistake, the outdoor unit not running (check if the fan outside is spinning), or a refrigerant or mechanical problem inside the system.
Check the filter and the thermostat first — those two you can fix yourself. If both are fine and the air is still warm, that's a repair call. In NYC or Westchester, call Cool-Aide HVAC at (718) 614-6073.
If the AC runs all day and the temperature never drops, the system is losing the fight somewhere. Usual reasons: a clogged filter, dirty coils that can't move heat, leaky ductwork cooling your walls instead of your rooms, or a system that's too small or too worn for the space.
Start with the filter. If a clean filter doesn't change it within a day, have the system looked at — running a struggling AC nonstop wears it out faster and drives the electric bill up.
Once a year — ideally in the fall, before the cold sets in. A yearly furnace service covers cleaning, inspection, and checking the parts that wear out, so the furnace is ready when the first cold night hits instead of failing on it.
The same rule works for your AC in the spring. One tune-up a year for each system is the simple schedule most homeowners follow. To book furnace service in NYC or Westchester, call (718) 614-6073.
Turning on and off every few minutes is called short cycling, and it's not normal. It can come from a dirty filter overheating the furnace, a thermostat problem, or a safety sensor shutting the system down to protect it.
Try a fresh filter first. If the on-off pattern keeps going, get it serviced — short cycling wears the furnace out and leaves you with uneven heat in the meantime.
When one room roasts and another freezes, the system itself is often fine — the problem is the ductwork delivering the air. Leaky, blocked, or badly routed ducts starve some rooms and flood others. Closed or blocked vents and a filter overdue for a change make it worse.
Check that vents in the cold (or hot) room are open and not covered by furniture. If the room still won't even out, the ducts need a look — that's a ductwork call.
Repair usually makes sense when the system is younger, the problem is a single part, and it cools well once fixed. Replacement starts to make sense when:
The honest answer depends on your system, which is why it starts with an inspection. Call (718) 614-6073 and describe what it's doing — repair and installation are both Cool-Aide services, so the advice isn't pushed one way.
A tune-up is a scheduled check-up, done before the season your system works hardest — AC in spring, heat in fall. The system gets cleaned and inspected, filters and airflow get checked, controls get tested, and worn parts get flagged while they're still a small fix.
Most breakdowns don't come out of nowhere — they build up. A tune-up is how you catch them early, on a day you picked, instead of on the hottest or coldest night of the year.
If you're in New York City or Westchester, you call Cool-Aide HVAC: (718) 614-6073. AC repair is the first service on this page — warm air, weak air, strange noises, or a system that won't turn on at all.
When you call, it helps to say what the system is doing (“it's blowing warm air” is perfect), when it started, and whether the outdoor unit is running. That's enough to get started.
The fastest way to reach us is the phone. Call, describe what the system is doing, and we'll take it from there.
